Client Bill of Rights
Comments Sought

Dear CoachVille R&D Team Member,

As you know, there are many different points of view on the Code of Ethics for coaches.  Mostly thumbs down on a specific set but mostly thumbs up on CoachVille providing examples/tools to create your own.

Which is on my list to do.

And, related to this, you've probably been hearing about the Patient's Bill of Rights bill that is circulating around the Congress and Senate in the United States.

What if we focused our efforts on crafting a Client Bill of Rights and made it client-centric vs coach-centric?

Ask yourself:

"If I'm a client of coach, what rights should I have?"

Would you jot down 5 or 10 of what comes to mind and I'll compile them and distribute all who send in at least 5.  Please email them this week to thomas@thomasleonard.com.

While it's probably true that the rights may just be the client-version of the code of ethics, but somehow it seems a LOT more interesting than a code of ethics.

Comments about any aspect of this are most welcome.  And if someone has a copy of the Patient Bill of Rights or any other groups Bill of Rights, can you email it to me, because I bet there's some good phrasing in these that we can evolve to fit our marketplace.

Thomas
